Opus Capital Markets Consultants Expands Due Diligence Operations
Lincolnshire, IL - July 2009 - Opus Capital Markets Consultants has recently announced the expansion of its corporate headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL. The company recently relocated to an 18,000 square foot operations facility to bring additional capacity to its centralized underwriting group. “With the additional space, we are well positioned to increase our market share as the MBS market continues to rebound,” says Jennifer LaBud, a Principal at Opus.
Opus CMC also acquired MDMC’s due diligence operations in Sussex, WI, in 2009, and opened a satellite office in Tampa, Florida to support increased volume. “We have started to see movement in the market again, and due diligence reviews have taken on a more complicated form. We now see longer term projects, ranging from basic transactional due diligence to intensive forensic work, and many times the work include atypical loan products that were not part of the secondary market prior to the mortgage crisis. With our expanded space, Opus CMC is able to support more volume, but, perhaps more importantly, it allows for expanded training opportunities for our staff,” says Mrs. LaBud. The company notes that it continues to place significant emphasis on training to ensure that its underwriting staff is adequately prepared to handle detailed forensic reviews and atypical situations. Opus CMC has developed a state of the art training center in the new facility to support these efforts. “The changes in the industry have given us an opportunity for improvement. Underwriters are no longer just temporary contractors that work for multiple service providers; they are dedicated full time employees that deserve opportunities for growth and development. This is a trend that is not only positive for the company and its employees, but for the industry as a whole.”
Opus CMC is a certified Woman Owned Business in the state of Illinois, that offers due diligence consulting expertise to the mortgage backed securities market. For further information, visit http://www.opuscmc.com, or contact Jennifer LaBud at (224) 632-1300.
